Scar and Faceup FAQ
+ I use a mixture of compounds for my scars, water color pencils, pastels for blushing and all layers from start to finish are sealed with MSC flat.
+ For faceups, I use a combination of liquitex acrylics, testors acrylics [on occasion only], pastels, water color pencils, gloss varnish, and all layers from start to finish are sealed with MSC flat.
+ Yes I take commissions. I have a commission thread over in DoA [HERE]. Currently I am full and there is a waiting list. My prices vary depending on the actual job, but usually start at 25 for a simplistic scar and can go up into the hundreds from there. Faceups are 50, no matter the size and there is a faceup removal fee if the head is sent to me painted.
+ No I will not walk you through my process on either faceups or scarring as it wouldn't be fair to my clients who pay for the service. Please do not ask.
+ There are full galleries of my works up [that are constantly in need of updating] both [HERE] in DoA and [HERE] in Angel Hunt. But yes, I will be posting select favorites from my works up here some time soon.
Doll FAQ
+ The dolls I personally own and the companies they are from [as well as years I bought them] are as follows ->
Megumi - Volks NewMakeup Megu [2003]
Jun - CP Delf Chiwoo Type1 [early 2005]
Jenova - Volks FCS SD13 BW oldF29 [late 2005]
Fuan - CP Delf El Type1 [2006]
Fanuel - CP Delf El Type1 [2006]
Hesue - CP Delf MNF Shiwoo [2006]
Saiyuri - CP Delf Miyu [2007]
Samara [teen] - Musedoll Ciel [2007]
Lan - CP Delf open eyed LuWen on an FD Bod [2007]
Samara [babby] - Bambicrony Cookie [2008]
George - Dollzone pet doll bunny [2008]
For links to all companies, the best place to go is Den of Angels which can be found ->[HERE] but for those who don't have a membership, here's a quick run down of links.
Volks
Luts
Fairy Land [where MNF are now being sold]
Bambicrony
Fantasy Doll
Musedoll
My own dolls ranged anywhere from gifts [George] up to 1500 plus [Jenova] in costs. They are made of resin, fully jointed and anatomically correct [all of them, even George has her girly bits]. They are normally bought ala cart [base headmold and bodies can be bought together or apart] -eyes, wigs, clothing, shoes, you name it come separately. Some companies [Volks] provide faceups, default wigs and eyes along with the dolls, others [Luts] provide eyes only and charge extra for faceups and wigs. The point of the dolls are that they are completely customizable down to the last detail.
I recommend that before you make a choice on the doll base you want, to check out Den of Angels and take a look at the different company reviews, owner experiences, pictures etc. There are some companies out there making cheaper and affordable dolls, but there's also a huge difference in resin quality, yellowing/aging factors, and over all posing abilities between those cheaper companies and some of the more expensive ones available.
+ I've customized all of my own dolls from head to toe [faceups, aesthetics, scarring when it applies, wig styling, clothing unless noted, mods] save ->
~ Megumi, who has a faceup from Illness-Illusion and default Megu wig.
~ Jun who has an old Luts Default faceup [he was bought from Domuya back before Luts started selling via their website] and his wig is from Aziza.
All of my dolls have been customized to represent very specific characters in a story I've written called Angel Hunt. Back ground info, plus story bits, profiles, full photo albums and the like can be see [HERE] on their home page. They are one of a kinds and I will never duplicate any of their aesthetics for any reason.
+ Jun, Jenova, Fuan, Fanuel, and Lan are all 60cm.
Megumi, Saiyuri and Samara [teen] are 58cm.
Hesue is about 43cm.
Samara [babby] is about 27cm.
George is about 15cm.
+ My pictures are taken with either my old sony pink cybershot camera or my newer Canon Rebel XSi. I do not alter my pictures beyond cropping and watermark or the occasional light adjustments when needed. All pics are taken under either natural light or my fluorescents, usually in my livingroom with fabric stuck behind them as a background [ah, feel the magic]
Hope that helps, and I'll update with more as needed ^^

There we sat in snow
All that time she was silent still
So if you love me
Won't you let me know? "

That and their headmolds are pretty versatile, depending on what you do with them - there's 4 Els in this house [two mine, two for my daughter] and because of the customizations, not one of them look the same. My friend has an El of her own, and he's completely different than the 4 here. I enjoy that you can get a bunch of the same headmold in one area and not have any of them duplicate the other.
