The suggester wrote that "the composition of the entire piece is incredibly well done, especially since it was put together without any traditional leatherworking tools and the scrolling carved freehand with an awl in such a tiny scale." Soooo, I've been designing a fair amount of clothing for my oncoming boy, Bal'thial [design sketch of him is ->here] because a)I'd like for him not to be nekky when Soom finally decides to start shipping the Ambers and b) his wardrobe is stepping so far out of tune with the rest of my crew that it's been a challenge to pull anything together in my head in general.

Well, I decided to start with general armor and such because he is a Soldier [and up until he fled =syrinxfox's Offy's territories along with a certain Harbinger, he'd been Io'fayl's Captain of her personal guard [and right hand man] for a bit over thirty years]. I have this thing about armor. I love it *__* Okay, maybe I just love shoulder thingies and the like, but still.

This was my first small scale tooling leather venture. The scrollwork was all done freehand because I draw pretty much everything I do freehand. The tooling part was so ghettoed though because I have no actual tools to work with. I carved/drew/tooled that design in there with my awl and crimp patterned the edging with my needle nose pliers -haha [it worked, that's all that mattered] The strap has matching scrollwork too, but I'm not sure it came through in these pics too well.

This is fitted for a Soom boy body, so it's a little big on Jenova [mainly the hanging red strap is, because on a Soom body it'll be a little higher up and tighter around the chest] I really can't wait to get Thial home so he can model it but I have a feeling I'm going to be making a similar one of these in black for Jenova because it looks really good on him *_*

I started this piece, from design to pattern to execution last night and finished it up today. Yay for successful first tries.

Pauldron is made of tooling leather, hand dyed and tooled with soft leather sewn all by me [including the straps] with added various findings and brads in copper. To get a feel for the size - Jenova is a 26.5" doll so this thing is rather small [maybe 2 inches across the front, 2.5 at most? About that]

Jenova is a Volks BW FCS SD13 oldF29 on a Dollstown body.
Shirt, Pauldron, and all aesthetics are done by me.

Edit O__O holy crap, DD?! I... just wow, seriously I did not expect to get one of these and I can't say enough how much I appreciate both those who suggested it and those who gave it to me ;__; <3

I was amazed seeing the thumbnail - but knowing it was made for a BJD just blows my mind! Such detail and on something so small. Simply amazing!
