Angel Hunt : Raven

Whooo, it's the end of the month which means another art challenge day. To sorta quote last month's explanation, the art challenges were set up by myself and *evphaedrielle to keep ourselves from slacking completely on our art. Basically there's going to be some theme each month and I'll be doing something related to that theme featuring one or more of my crew [or those attached to my crew] Pics don't have to be colored, just inked, yadda yadda. This month we're joined by *syrinxfox [and possibly ~starwide?] as well so head over to everyone else's pages to look at their arts.

The theme this month was : Raven.

Okay so I barely made it in time this month, as in I started sketching on it in the morning, went for serious at 10p and finished this at 3a this morning =_= This month wasn't so good for my health and I haven't had alot of time to sit down and draw. I had a ton of ideas for the theme, started 3 of them that weren't literal translations like this one here and never solidified anything up until... well 3 am this morning D:

That being said, how my picture ended up was not how I intended, somewhere along the lines this skeletal, death card thing I was doing with Fuan and the Raven ended up being Egyptian meets Erte' meets Nouveau... which... I liked alot better in the end than I would have had I continued on with my first idea. I must have erased the page about 30 times completely before I got something solid enough to ink, but that also had alot to do with the fact that I was half sleeping while I was drawing and couldn't see the paper part of the time +_+

I know I've recently done Fuan in another non-art challenge related thing and had originally intended to pick others from my crew instead, but last minute I switched back to the only solid idea I'd actually started. Not that I'm complaining, just saying <_<. On a side note, designing for my diva here has to be about the easiest thing ever and I love coming up with new stuff for him to wear [that I should prolly sew for his dorrie form at some point -heh]. Also, this was my first raven and as I was drawing it, I realized I'd suck at drawing anthro and I'm rather surprised I managed to get the bird looking like an actual bird and not some mutated thing with wings xD

Sketched with mechanical pencil, inked with prizma pens [005, 03] and raped a little with a PS action filter. Fuan is (C) to me.
